Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has issued the official notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024. GATE Online Form 2024 is scheduled to take place from the 3rd to the 11th of February 2024. This renowned examination encompasses a comprehensive range of 30 subjects, commonly known as “papers,” and will be exclusively conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT).
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a nationwide examination administered and conducted in eight zones throughout the country. It is overseen by the GATE Committee, which consists of faculty members from IISc, Bangalore, and seven other IITs, acting on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.
Qualifying in the GATE examination is an obligatory prerequisite for individuals who intend to pursue admission and/or financial aid in the following areas: (i) Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture, and (ii) Doctoral programs in pertinent branches of Arts and Science, within institutions that receive support from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government agencies. Furthermore, certain colleges and institutions, even those that do not offer MoE scholarships or assistantships, still require GATE qualifications.
Furthermore, numerous Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have employed the GATE score as a criterion for candidate selection. Distinguished organizations such as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), and Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) are just a few examples.
Direct recruitment to Group A level posts in the Central government, specifically Senior Field Officer (Tele), Senior Research Officer (Crypto), and Senior Research Officer (S&T) in the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India, is currently being conducted based on the GATE score.

Educational Qualification: Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or who have completed any government-approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Architecture/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2024.
